NOTE: This is Day 19 of Podcast Interviewing School, a 28-day series from Build A Big Podcast that focuses on the skill of being a better podcast interviewer.
I've done hundreds of radio and podcast interviews, mostly with people in the entertainment business...
Many of these people lead "interesting" lives. And some of the details about their lives are probably best left to private conversation, not published for the world to hear via radio or podcast.
If you're doing your job as a great interviewer, guests are going to be comfortable with you. And sometimes that comfort can lead to them saying things they later regret...
More thoughts in this episode as well as my own "I said something stupid" moment, which I've left in just to prove the point that it can happen to anybody.
